I liked your idea about a social group where you share your hiking plans. I always feel the more the merrier. It is a great and easiest method of gathering many people with same likes.

Yes by that way we can easily find out people which are interested in this thing. In fact we have created our trekking group on Whatsapp so that we can share our plan directly on it. And we can also know about who is coming and who is not. So having such group is easy thing because hiking is not that kind of trip which can be enjoyed with limited people.
