Have you lived the experience of camping alone?

I've camped several times alone, and I quite like it because it's a time that I have a greater connection with myself. It's an essential time and that everyone should have.

Camping with family and friends is very good and fun, but camping alone brings a unique feeling, something that only those who have lived can agree or explain. So, if you haven't yet lived such an experience... You should try as soon as possible.

For me camping is a recreational activity that I have been doing for a long time and I believe that anyone who loves to explore new places and enjoy the beauty and serenity of Mother Nature can go for camping tours. My favorite camping destination is about 170 km away from my home in Rishikesh on the banks of Ganges that offers an unbelievable atmosphere. I love when I hear, watch and enjoy nature in different ways like birds singing or I get a chance to swim in the fresh water as our camps are right on the bank of River Ganges.

Camping alone!! I guess it depends on place too. We normally used to go for camping and hiking on place like forest (not that deep). So going to such places alone is not that good idea. I have never tried thing like camping alone. We always used to go in big group and we are doing it almost two to three times in a month, but yes as I said with big group.

It is true that it is good way to be with our own self , but yes place should be safe enough. lol Though never thought about camping alone.

The only time that I have ever camped alone is when I have gone fishing. Some weekends I'll leave on a Saturday morning and take a trip to lakes and rivers that I haven't been to before, fish, stay over night in the tent and then return Sunday evening, and it's just my way of getting away from everything and relaxing for a while.

I wouldn't necessarily decide to go on a camping holiday on my own though, or anything like that. I think that camping with other people always adds to the experience, and while I don't mind camping overnight on my own, I wouldn't fancy camping alone for longer than that.

Well I haven't experience camping alone or doing that with just my family. I am thinking if that would have the perfect feel of a group camping.
Sure may be easier to organise the thing is hope the experience will be lasting.

I have been camping since I was young and the times I have been in campsites cannot be counted. But I don’t think I would have the temerity to go camping by my lonesome. For me, camping is more of a social activity. When it comes to the work like cooking and preparing the shelter, it is a group effort. Camping alone is like a religious retreat to have time for yourself. And it’s not good to do that in a camping area.

I gotta admit I'll be afraid and jump at every sound and not because of animals but because there can be some dangerous people living alone in a forest. I don't think I'd be able to sleep but I do like the thought of being frightened while reading a scary book. I'd get bored pretty quickly, though unless I have snacks that will last me through the night. Having some sort of music device would be cool too. I'm not really the type of guy that would meditate.

Welll, i really do not think i will ever be able to camp alone. I would probably be so scared i would return after only a few hours. I have always camped with either my parents friends or my girlfriend. I would not be able to imagine camping alone. I imagine that if i ever gather enough courage to do it, it might actually be very fun

I never had an opportunity to camp alone. It's always in a group with friends or family. I wouldn't mind some private time if such an opportunity strikes! However, I think it would be fun to know that the area is safe.

If you are gong to camp alone, then like you say the main thing you need to think about is the safety of the area that you are planning on doing it. While it does sound nice to be away from everyone for a while so you can spend some time on your own, at the same time it's best not to get too far away from others as there is the safety aspect to think about.

Camping alone as well, you also have to make sure that you take a mobile phone with you or another communication device and make sure that you are able to get a signal, because even though you might want to be alone, you won't want to be alone if you end up falling or getting stuck somewhere so always also make sure that others know where you are gong to be.
