This is a 12-hour trip by car which looks exciting. My wife’s sister went that route last year with her family (they have 3 children). It was a great ride since they had no definite itinerary except for that place near the volcano. The trip actually took more than 12 hours because of the stopover for food and the bathroom. They said that it was really fun to travel with the family. However, it was a bit boring on their way back because everyone was asleep except the father who was driving.
When we go on a road trip that long, I prefer to rent a van with a driver so that I would also enjoy the trip. It’s nice to sleep when my eyes droop. And it’s a good feeling to reacht he destination feeling refreshed. When I drive for more than 5 hours, I feel very tired upon reaching the destination.
