Practicing sports helps us lose weight, but some sports can do it faster than others (if we help ourselves, of course ).
I'm not sure about that, but I think riding a bike I've already managed to lose 17-20 pounds in almost 2 years. It was very encouraging for me (more than I was expecting to be honest), and I was certainly very happy with the result.
I always lose some pounds when I go biking on successive days. For example when I ride the bike for 3 times in a week, expect me to lose at least 1 pound. However, it doesn't work with everyone. My wife would be biking with d instead of losing albeit she would gain a pound or 2 because she would have a bigger appetite for soda and food as well. So maybe it depends on the lifestyle of the person.
I've gained weight due to a recent surgery, and it's been hard to send that extra weight away. Sure, I've just started exercising again a couple of weeks ago and not with the same intensity, but at the same time I am not gaining either.
I do recall biking for miles and miles and losing 3 or 4kgs per ride, so I miss those days!
When I suddenly gained weight a few years ago I was determined to lose those pounds again as gaining weight made me slow and tired. Biking was one of the things I did, I didn't do it as excercise but just something fun instead so I would be more motivated. I didn't bike too much but it did help me lose some weight. I left the rest of my weight lost journey to changing my eating habits a bit.
When I was playing football regularly one thing I discovered I was getting better in shape. I wouldn't say I started losing weight since I was actually not that fat at first. My observation regular sports help me develop more muscles and be in a finer shape.
My body weight is directly proportional to my physical activity. My body accumulates as well as loses fat very fast. The moment I stop my physical work I gain weight. And as soon as I regain my exercise I lose weight. Sports is the best fun way to stay in form . I try to play a sport for at least 5 days a week. This really helps me to burn ut the extra fat in my body.
Not these days, but I have reduced around 15 to 20 KGs before two years. Though I already gain 7 KGs back. It is always hard to maintain, and I am trying hard for the same. I am intending to lose weight in near future, let's see how it goes. Even I am not confidence this time.
Losing weight riding a bike requires that we ride it a lot, and in fact I was super fit when I was using the bike to commute, that was at least 45 minutes of bike everyday, so it really took the weight off myself. Keeping low weight it's a matter of life style, we need to have an healthy one.
No, I generally do not lose weigh, not permanently that is as I am used to sporting activities including biking, trekking, walking and jogging besides my regular participation in badminton (not as active anymore though). So even if lose couple of pounds after my hectic activity I regain it immediately after I have completed the program. I am proud to say that I have maintained my weight right from my college days despite of having a very busy lifestyle.
