Bicycling in the rain
Re: Bicycling in the rain
I love to bicycle in the rain and it is one of my most favourite moments. The feel that we experience is simply amazing and it really can't be put into words to explain. The cool air, the drizzle, the smell of mud will stir your heart and I travel a long distance in rain. My friends would be riding beside me but when it rains they bid me goodbye and go home but I on the other hand bicycle as much as possible and will be enjoying it all alone.
Re: Bicycling in the rain
Depending where I am cycling to, and what I'm doing when I get there, I either love or hate cycling in the rain, and there's no in-between. If I am cycling to and from work then there's nothing worse than getting half way there and it raining. You then have to sit all day at work in damp clothes and generally feel just grotty.
If I'm just going out on the bike to relax and doing a bit of mountain biking, as long as I'm wearing the right gear then I actually prefer it when it rains because it's more exhilarating, and when you get back you actually feel more contented with your ride.

Cycling in the rain is a whole new level because it requires that I can put the bike in a safe place after, and also change clothes and shower so that I don't have a cold. Even so it's not my favorite thing to do as it get slippery and visibility is poor too, so nothing like the sun to bike for me.
I love most outdoor activities!
Re: Bicycling in the rain
I love cycling in the rain and it is an awesome experience. When I used to bicycle in my childhood days when it rains my friends would leave me and run away to save themselves from getting wet. But, I enjoy my time alone enjoying that cool breeze, the smell of mud and grass, the chill droplets splashing across me as I race through the rain. But now I have stopped bicycling and at times I enjoy it in my two wheeler.
Re: Bicycling in the rain
We have had a joy ride from Penrith to Edmonsdon Park in Liverpool on Sunday a distance of about 40+ km by bicycles. We checked weather forecast of both the places which said there was no rain but what we did not check was that it was raining in Bernera road area. So we enjoyed a rainy bicycle ride for about 6 kilometers which took us almost 20 minutes.
Re: Bicycling in the rain
lol so apparently everyone loves to cycle in the rain?
I was cycling in the rain in Amsterdam last November, just because I was spending 3 days only in the city, and if I didn't got around I would see nothing because it was raining all the time. It was ok, but as soon as we got to the hotel we needed to shower immediately to warm up.
